Here’s a quick collection of some of missjunebug’s fav quotations about the love sure to be expressed on Valentine’s Day by the romantic in each of us. If you can’t find words of your own, borrow some of these or do what Mr.JB did and send a Hallmark ecard from Hoops and Yoyo at hallmark.com. They are so so funny and sweet! Happy Valentine’s Day!

1 Corinthians 13

1 If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing.3 If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing.

4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10 but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears. 11 When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put the ways of childhood behind me. 12 For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.

13 And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love. ♥ St. Paul

And perhaps the best Love Sonnet every written:

SONNET 116 ♥ William Shakespeare

Let me not to the marriage of true minds
Admit impediments. Love is not love
Which alters when it alteration finds,
Or bends with the remover to remove:
O no! it is an ever-fixed mark
That looks on tempests and is never shaken;
It is the star to every wandering bark,
Whose worth’s unknown, although his height be taken
Love’s not Time’s fool, though rosy lips and cheeks
Within his bending sickle’s compass come:
Love alters not with his brief hours and weeks,
But bears it out even to the edge of doom.
If this be error and upon me proved,
I never writ, nor no man ever loved.

missjunebug liked this sonnet so much she and her Valentine Mr.JB shared it in their marriage ceremony thirty years ago! And they said it wouldn’t last!! Surprise! It did! Happy V-Day!

It was twenty years ago today

Sergeant Pepper taught the band to play.

It was thirty years ago today

John Lennon was too soon called away.

missjunebug still misses her favorite Beatle. She remembers seeing the Beatles in concert on September 18, 1964 at Dallas Memorial Auditorium along with thousands of other arm-waving and screaming teens and pre-teens. And yes, she screamed, too: “John, John, John!” from her balcony seat. The concert, including encores, lasted a grand total of about 25 minutes, but it still remains one of the highlights of her life. It was the best 5 dollars and 5o cents she ever spent!

May you rest in the peace you imagined, John.
